- Daily: Each day students are given a diagnostic where they apply their reading and literary analysis skills using short non-fiction texts. Current Topic/Text:
- 11/12-12/17 -Novel Study: Fahrenheit 451 - students will read and analyze the text using the provided organizers (located in Google Classroom). This will be done independently, but we will collaborate as small groups and a whole class to review and discuss each section of the novel. Students will be periodically quizzed on material to determine if they have been reading and comprehending the material. There will also be formal exams used to determine proficiency in text analysis.
*****Please note that the novel study will make up most of the remaining grades for the quarter. Therefore, students need to be engaged, accurate, and on time with their assignments.
- Week Prior to Break - students will compete their last benchmark for the semester prior to their state issued EOC to be given within a week. This benchmark will serve as a means to determine individual student remediation prior to the exam and predict student achievement on the exam.
